One of the potential hosting vulnerabilites are those hacks that exploit holes in VDeck, CPanel and the like. If a host provides this kind of software, but they don't keep it patched and upgraded (which can be a nasty job for them) then the little guy with a site sitting on this big webhosting service has an exposure that they didn't bargain for.
