Well, one thing I learned is that my neighbors don't give a darn. I turned off my lights and walked around the neighborhood a bit and could see peoples lights on (and I just KNOW these people aren't even home ;) ). It's the same feeling I got after watching "An Inconvenient Truth" ... next day I'm walking down the road and I hear people just gunning their engines and then SLAMMING on the brakes to get from one stop sign to another.
Maybe we should do something with more impact, like raise electric rates by 1,000% for one day and donate the proceeds to renewable energy research ;)
Or even better, tax gas by an extra $2 and pre-empt the price raises by the oil companies (they'll claim they're raising prices because of supply and demand, then pocket the cash ... so let's just do it first).
