Except for manual inspections - when they happen, all bets are off. That's why I avoid even the appearance of deception. Hidden text? Just say no. What if you have a technical oversight and forget to disallow a page? What if someone reports you? Contesting an "unfair" penalty after the fact is not the position I want to be in.

And in this case, if the provider of the module requires the link - how will they feel if no one can see the link? Seems like THEY might report the page.
