next thing to consider is what constitutes an authority type site. How do we find them and how do we become them. There would no doubt be hundreds of thousands, if not more, authority type sites so it seems highly unlikely that a list would be incorporated into algo but algo is deciding whats authority and whats not by other means. But what?
Wasn't there a Google patent filing a while back about using as few as 200 "seed sites" to convey quality status, authority, or whatever via a trickle-down effect?
