Could've been coincedence, but gaining an immediate rush of identical links all pointing to the home page trips a Google filter IMHO.

While I have sites and pages with no links I also have a couple sites with site-wide one-way outgoing links to a certain domain of mine. Looking back I recall a short lived dip in ranking but 3 and a half years later this problem has long since disappeared.

So is this effect temporary? Or does the problem have less to do with the link itself and more to do with who's linking to who?
