It will be curious to see if the M-word (“monopoly”) begins to be uttered. But I suspect we are much more likely to see market forces affect things well before legislators see a reason to take action.
Here are a few names to consider - Standard Oil, Bell Telephone, General Motors, Xerox, Kodak, Microsoft. All attained market dominance. But eventually the tide turned either due to market forces (which were forced to innovate to compete) or due to government regulation. As Google’s search position continues to grow they would appear to be creeping up to market dominance status (many think that is already the case).
