Google calls it a cache. Since this thread is about the "Google 'Cache'," it's only reasonable to use Google's term.

I agree with jomaxx: Describing Google's top frame as an "advertisement" is a stretch worthy of Spiderman. Now, if you were talking about About.com's ad frame, I might agree with you.
