I've seen pages on one site make six full cycles

Was there any appreciable variance in either the top or bottom positions with each cycle?

I'm just wondering if it's possible they are testing a routine that is making small refinements to the index with each pass through the data, since one of those papers referred to the monumental task that certain types of Phrase-Based Reranking would be.
