I guess what Adam wants to tell us is "stop overusing internal linking as we have trouble working it out".

The problem with Google's logic on this issue is that it's good for the users (remember that mantra, G?)

I bet every site owner on here can show better sales, click-thrus, etc when repeating navigation elements in SEVERAL places on the page.

Humans are funny like that. So unpredictable in their inability to find what they are looking for, unless you place it 2, 3, 4 times on a page.

Guess how many times customers call our companies asking if we have "blue widgets" even though we have 2 "blue widgets" anchor texts on our "green widgets" and "red widgets" pages.
