After reading this thread I realized that 2 of my sites had no robots.txt! Both of these sites are not important to me because I had given up on them long ago but opted to leave them running to see what happens. Both were listed with URL only so I added the robots.txt, 301'd the NON www to the www and submitted a G Sitemap for both... amazingly enough just a short 48 hours later both had listings. Thank you for starting this thread because sometimes even experienced webmasters forget the small details and this prompted me to check.
