You want a Canadian IP address, not an American IP address. Then you will be ranked higher in google.ca. Your Ranking on the global site (google.com) will stay the same. Google is not reducing your ranking on google.com, it's increasing your ranking on google.co.uk Obviously if your site is relevant to Canadians, you want that boost applied to google.ca, not google.co.uk
never mind time to buy a new domain maybe and register it in the US or does it matter where it's registered?
