For me it's very simple - if Google fails to deliver results i will block their bot. Its just accessing too many of our pages and causing too much traffic to justify the results. For me, that is a business relationship. They read and cache our pages - in exchange they provide visitors.

Tame Google. I think Google is like a Rotweiler on a choke collar. If Google pulls away, pull Google right back in, and make it be felt. lol. Not always easy though :P
