Phil said, "Somebody may say that all we have to do is ban urls in sig lines and posts and we will be ok. But no site where visitors can post messages should have to take those kind of steps."

Agreed. Whether or not to allow sig lines should be at the discretion of the Forum owner, not due to perceived or real threat of PR0 ramifications.

If linking to PR0 sites causes a negative domino effect or something similar to that, does this mean we're put into the position of censoring sig lines? If I were to remove my blasted Google Toolbar, I'd never know of any potential risk. And even if I use the bar and see a page/site I want to link to, I'm going to chuck Google's prejudice and vote for the link.

Google has to have the expertise to add variables that take into account the IP, text around the link, URL associated with the link and source of link. If/And statements can make things fair and logical so that a sig line link, or link to a page in an article, or newsletter, isn't going to wreak havoc on the integrity of an entire site or those that link to it. It should easy to automate the hunt for true "offenders".

To put your mind at ease, Phil, I've decided to attend the next Google sponsored dance and flirt with a cute Google man employee until he surrenders all his knowledge to me.
