Before the update (latest) I was #1-3 on most of the keywords and now I'm about 10 or so places down.... I replaced inbound links that had the exact keyword and removed the <Hx> tags too but no luck...

Well have you consider that on-page factors are not the issue.

Perhaps you lost some important links, or some links were devalued, or perhaps your competitors gained valuable links.
