Actually, whilst I'm thinking about it.
I really resent having to link out to spammy directories just so my site can compete with them.

It seems like a really good plan from Google to actively encourage the proliferation of such sites in this way.
There are 3 directories of no local relevance in the top ten rankings for a regional search of my keywords and now I'm linking to them.
It just gets wierder!
