I think that nearly every site is guilty of excessive crosslinking according to SEOArt's example. I mean, how many sites do you see with a disclaimer, privacy statement, or 'about us' link at the foot of every page?! I always do it as a matter of good design - people don't want to go searching for this basic info. Surely that can't be considered bad practice or malicious by Google?
