Yes I am aware of the things you mentioned. I am not talking about the difference in the toolbar PR which takes a while to update but my rank in the serps. Before the test I was spreading the home page PR evenly throughout 10 pages. All of these pages linked back to the home page but also each other. I then switched to the test where the home page links to a page and that page just links back to the home page. This seems to be the ideal scenario for focusing most of the PR to the home page. My rank in the serps decreased after the test which tells me that PR is not making it back to my home page when before at least some of it was. My rank in the serps is the same as when I conducted a test of just a home page and nothing else, a one page site test. I don't think it's the lack of content since 10 pages really isn't that much content. Who knows maybe I just lost a bunch of links but that would be quite a coincidence.
