The sites dominating are older ones and some new ones that follow a stricrt regime... seems like older indexed sites can get away with anything :P
I work in an industry where traffic volumes are public knowledge and go up to 500,000+/day and I can assure you that if traffic was a factor then it would be noticed and it isn't.
