Alltheweb still shows 50,000+ sites linking to me. Maybe Google has just reduced the total number of sites and/or pages it crawls? My sites are over 6 years old. They are legitimate, non-commercial, educational sites. All with high content and very little outbound links. The type of sites most search engines love. I thought it might have just been Google is penalizing me in favor of more commercial sites, since all of this happened in the last two months, with Google under a little bit of pressure from Yahoo and MSN who are researching their own search engines. But if this is happening to commercial sites too, I would love to hear more thoughts on the matter.
Two months ago, Google showed my main site as having 9,200 sites linking to it. Now, it shows just 1,500 sites linking to it plus I dropped from PR8 to a PR7.
