A while back (some years...) we here at WebmasterWorld had a post re: Microsoft running (internally) a machine that, after probing, revealed to be linux, running apache, and that had been stable (turned on) for more than 100+ days...:)

It was quite funny.

After seeing that even inside Microsoft, they were using linux technology for servers, why would anybody have a delusion about their ability of their servers to work or not at the enterprise level?

Google, on the other hand, has shown that linux seems to work out very well indeed for search engine technology.
