Here in lies the problem. I found out they have 30+ specifically named domains that all have a massive amount of meta-tag junk. The owner is attached to each and everyone of these and is also paying hosting for each individual domain. My Advice To Them: (1) I told them that they need to cut down on the domains. They can have the few that are really important and focus on those - The rest of them can be redirected to the main website. But the redirects will not be listed in the search engines. My Question To The Experts (YOU!): Do you agree with my advice? I apologize if this is a repost. If there are any posts that I missed that may have answer my question please feel free to link me to them.
I have been designing websites for about 6 years and I've seen the search engine companies popularity come and go. I am currently working with a company to do some design and they asked me about getting traffic to their website.
(2) I also told them that getting a website listed will cost them money. I know that Overture, Inktomi, and Altavista charges for spidering/inclusion. If they want to spend the money on these services they can.
(3) Getting listed in Yahoo and Google is more difficult and takes time but is well worth it.
(4) Should I consider a Yahoo!Express route with sponsored links? What is the response from these type of services?
Is paid inclusion worth the costs?
I know you can get listed in google and yahoo by going the "suggest a site" for a category route - What is the general response time for something of this nature?
Should you resubmit your site frequently?
What are some of the things that I should look out for?
