You are right we touched on it during the discussion on whether to use doorway pages or not, hence my conclusion not to use the doorway pages. However I am stuggling to understand the reasons that using a framed page that isn't seen but sends the user straight to the main site is not an option.

Whilst I can now produce what I believe to be a good case against doorway pages (thank you all for your input)I am do not seem to have an alternative other than this method. The mere mention of frames seems to bring up a red flag and I can understand why this would be so for the main site. I have been charged with finding ways of improving our listing and need to be able to explain why options that are presented to us are not, which is why I wondered if anyone could expand on the frame aversion, confirm that this method is indeed spamming or tell me that it's worth giving it a go and that they have done something similar....
