This is interesting.
According to its website, the company Top Level Domain Holdings (TLDH), "is a publicly traded holding company on the London AIM. The company is currently focused specifically on the new top level domain space... ICANN has recently announced plans to expand the universe of top level domains. TLDH intends to make targeted investments in this space, focusing on both infrastructure technologies and specific top level domains."
Their Executive Chairman, Peter Dengate Thrush "was Chairman of the Board of Directors of ICANN, and in that role led the process that resulted in the historic decision to launch the new gTLD program in June 2011."
Will be interesting to see what gTLDs they end up controlling.
