Well, that certainly is promoting triple-x in a triple-x sort of way... although I'd highly disagree with "web's coolest" as a description for any triple-x domain name.
I find the pricing triple-x infuriating. I mean if there were ever a more blatant gouging of the domain consumers I don't know what that would be. But I mean really $100 a year (godaddy) vs. $12 for .com? (I don't actually use godaddy, get .com for even less elsewhere, unfortunately/or, well whatever, my registrar does not have triple-x). This is clearly meant to gorge on the pocketbooks of .com owners who would prefer to protect their brand. But is also anti-competitive as the little guys have harder time affording triple-x.
Will triple-x domain usage actually "take-off"? Not so sure, but could certainly muddy the waters even more in that er, um, nook, er, niche.
