Adult Companies Sue ICANN Over . X X X [pcworld.co.nz] Two of the world's biggest p orn companies have teamed up to sue the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and ICM Registry over their introduction of the .X X X top-level domain.
However, according to Digital Playground and Manwin, the creation of the .X X X TLD forces owners of trademarks and domain names to purchase expensive 'defensive registration' from ICM to prevent cyber-squatters from exploiting those names in .X X X. Annual profits from this process are expected to reach US$200 million, Manwin said.
