I'm a webmaster for a nonprofit organization and we have a few websites I'm in charge of. Our lawyer has suggested that we consider registering/protecting/blocking registration of our domain names in the new .x x x domain. I guess just so we aren't embarrassed by somebody else registering them later and doing something weird with them.
My tendency is to not be concerned about it. Why waste money on something like that? Where does it end? Isn't it conceivable that more and more TLDs will be created? Isn't it conceivable that someday anybody will be able to create their own TLD? mysite.whatever
I don't see why somebody else would register our domain names.x x x except to try and resell them to us at a higher cost. But should I care? I don't really want those domains anyway.
Please help me understand if I might be missing something here!
(edited because if you type 3 x's in a row it changes it!)
