I own a 4 letter .com and the seller price was listed for $4K. I bargained and think I got a decent deal.
It all depends on which 4 letters you're talking about otherwise the range is too big for an estimate. Prices can range from 1K - 100K and beyond.
i.e.: abcd.com is probably worth much more than wxyz.com
A few questions you should ask yourself:
1- Can you easily pronounce the name or is it an acronym?
2- Is it easy to type?
3- How bad do you need the .com version? How would you benefit? Is it worth the price?
Remember you can always bargain...
