---- .EU Domain registration opens Friday 7th April

It's Friday 17.40 UK time and the whois.eu is still not available!

Absolutely pathetic.

Kind of makes me want to declare independence from EU. What kind of jerks were responsible for giving this bunch of amateurs the .eu gTLD? It was obvious that there was going to be a surge in domains so it should have been planned for. Instead these vegetables are issuing press releases on the numbers of domains they have managed to register.

If all we end up with is a load of squatters then nothing will have been achieved. They had the time, they had the advice and they still made a mess of it.
When the .eu gTLD gets up and running, it might be worth running a check on all squatted/PPC parasite domains against registered .eu domains.

How can an MFA site, with a completely different applicant name and different company name, be selected/prioritised over genuine business names?
Because the people who ran the .eu procedure were morons who knew fsckall about the domain business?
only one used in the world!

The most annoying thing for me is that I wanted to encompass our European office sales sites through one single .eu name yet now, for the moment, they are going to have to remain on the .com and I know of several other companies that were thinking along the same lines.
Well the only thing I can think of right now is a nice Daily Sun style headline "F*ck .Eu" for Eurid and those in the EU commission responsible for this mess. :) I think I'll stick with the .com brands I have because there is no good reason to go .eu after the cesspool these morons have made of the gTLD.

Damned annoying to say the very least but I bet after a few beers tonight and about 3 am I come up with the solution:-)
Regroup, reorganise and reorder. :)

Regards...jmcc
