---- I own a .co.uk, but the .com equivalent has become available

I run a UK website under a .co.uk domain name, which I have and always will promote as the .co.uk name.

The .com version of the name has recently become available, which I was hoping to get, but I've gotten into bidding for the name on snapnames and the cost has become rather a lot more that I'd hoped.

I probably won't ever do anything with the name, other than direct any traffic to my .co.uk domain, which I guess is helpful for anyone that incorrectly types my domain.

Does anyone have any experience of buying the .com equivalent of their regional domain and seeing an increase in traffic?

It doesn't appear that the .com domain has any PR or incoming links from what I can see...

Jonathan
