well, the situation is pretty grim.... the day Verisign announced the deal, they canned a bunch of employees @ registrars.com (mainly operator support.) Now it basically almost impossible to get them by phone.... used to be they were the only big registrar you could get on the phone.

Anyway, everyone there is on a temp contract.... something like 6 months for the sales team.

Rumors are two fold: 1.) verisign is going restore registrars.com back to its former glory (a story created possibly to keep up moral of those that are left), or 2) Network Solutions and Registrars.com are going to merge into one, dissolve both names, and run under the Verisign brand.

I was literally one of very the first 'referral' partners they signed back in '99... longer than 95% of most people that work there... and have watched them go down hill over the last year.

Anyway, it goes deeper than that for me personally... and after a number of unanswered calls and emails to my account manager, I have started dragging bundles of kindling to the bridge...
