FYI, there are 3,204,663 domains registered with GoDaddy - as for 2003 - according to Whois.sc. However, GoDaddy is still on number three, with the third most domains registered, first is Network Solutions, followed by Tucows.

Don't forget to add Wild West Domains to the total count. That's their reseller arm. This makes GoDaddy the #2 Registrar ahead of Tocows.

Someone told me that it costs the registrars $6.95 per domain to buy from ICANN and resell. So GoDaddy is definitely not making profit on this. They will make their profit from the add-ons.
