It is crucial that you adjust and configure the program right for e.g. filtering. You should not use the defaults. What WebTrends product are you using? What version?
All WebTrends products autodetects the file format of the log, even ziped files. The only problem I have enounted is with some specific Oracle products. See that you choose auto detect in the log format checkbox when running a report.
