Numbers beginning 084x, 087x, 070 and 09xx are premium rate and cost a lot to call, especially from a mobile. Savvy customers avoid calling these types of numbers. Some of these numbers cannot be called from outside the UK.

Numbers beginning 080x are free to call from a landline, but are expensive to call from a mobile. There are proposals that one day these numbers will also be free to call from all mobiles.

Only numbers beginning 01xx[x][x], 02x and 03xx are inclusive in free minutes from both landlines and mobiles. They are charged at geographic rate when there are no free minutes.
