When you open a VPN session, your computer sends a query to the VPN server regularly to make sure the connection is still open. If your computer does not detect a response from the VPN server within 180 seconds (three minutes), the VPN connection will be terminated. Users with slow dial-up connections may find that 180 seconds is not long enough to receive a response from the VPN server, and may therefore need to adjust the time-out period.
I recommend you to re configure server setup on your windows 7 VPN or just try to any 3rd Party providers who offers secure services:
You can create a virtual private network yourself by using certain effective services available in the market, some of these include:
1) LogMeIn (Previously known as Hamachi)
2) Comodo Unite Previously known as EasyVPN)
3) Gbridge
