I'm trying to summarise in my head what cloud hosting is really all about, and I just want to check if this summary is correct:
"Cloud hosting is web server clustering and replication at a virtual level using full virtualisation at the processor cores".
Would that be a fair statement? You then obviously get firewalls, hypervisors, SANS etc - but the main principal comes across as such.
The logic being that it uses up space that in a web cluster would simply stand empty as it would have to be available for one or 2 domains only?
What is a Tier 2 data centre or Tier 4 etc though?
