Is there any way to limit the type of files that can be written in Plesk or Linux or does this need to use a web/firewall type filter?

Will write permissions prevent the account changing directories, reading files, creating directorys, deleting stuff ?

Im fine with the transfers and processsing I just want to ensure if the Windows box is hacked theres no way to damage the LAMP box.

I'm using an SFTP script, durring connection Windows is being sent a fingerprint but is saying the host key is unknown - is this normal ?
