Re: using it to accept credit card payment in the US, I can't picture very many consumers being willing to fax personal docs about their credit card to England to buy something on impulse, but if you're using it for international business to business, they seem like a great way to go. MUCH cheaper and easier (after setup) than Western Union.
I recently sent a small sum of money to Romania via Moneybookers.com. The initial restriction to use a credit card is no more than $50 for the first 30 days and I couldn't get them to tell me when it could be raised. However, they are fast and once set up (you have to fax some documents to England to authorize your credit card for payment -- I wanted to send money) it worked as described.
