---- Ecommerce without an online processor?

Hey we are ALL CEOs of ecommerce companies on this list.

Don't get your point about fraud and maintaining one's own database of stolen cards. Soon or later, regardless of the exact method, the card is going to go through a merchant account or its equivilent, and they will be doing the screening for stolen #s etc. Or do you think offline processing means shipping the goods before they process the cards? Don't think anyone is dumb enough to do that.

Oh wait. I do, sometimes.

But anyhow, for everyone else, the fraud issues remain the same regardless of which route one, offline or online.

The merchant account costs you cite seem way out of line too. If it wasn't that advertising isn't allowed on this forum, after that buildup, I'd suspect you were going to try and sell me something.

<As the former Director of E-Commerce for HP and CTO for an E-Commerce company, I'm well aware of the issues out there and would gladly field any of your questions (or as many as I can).
