---- Ecommerce without an online processor?

1. Is it possible?

Sure is!

2. Is it advisable?

If your volume is low, the manual processing will not be a big factor.

3. If it is possible and not ill-advised, what would be involved in setting this up?

Free solution is Mal's eCommerce. Their free version allows you to store CC details on a server which you can log into later. You take the CC details and process through your offline processor (with prior approval from the bank) or use a service like ProPay.com. IMO, osCommerce will be overkill.

Since Mal's shopping cart engine is remote hosted, it can also be used on any type of web site like your ISP account or even GeoCities. osCommerce requires PHP and mySQL which adds a small monthly cost for hosting (~$5-$10 per month?)
