Do they deliver a copy of the Wall Street Journal with each order? :)
I've seen a couple of local companies trying to do delivery of food orders placed online from local restaurants- sounds like the business model isn't that much different.
This is more about Amazon being the distribution channel than the actual seller- an extension of their 3rd party sellers. It's unlikely that individual sellers could achieve critical mass in offering online ordering and local delivery. But team up with Amazon? Yeah, sounds like it could work.
Would I ever use it? Probably not. Would I use it if I didn't have a car and the nearest grocery store was 5 miles away? Probably.
