I've been in business for 12 years or so but I haven't done any email marketing and I think I'm missing out. I have a gigantic database of customer email addresses which I'd like to use but I don't want to be a spammer. I know the completely respectable thing to do would be to start over with subscribers but I seem to be subscribed to the email newsletter of every store I shop with online and I know I didn't opt into most of them. What do you think?
What are the benefits of using a service like Constant Contact or MailChimp instead of writing the mailer myself?
