---- Shipping charges vs. Adding Shipping to Price

Shipping should be free on any shop even if it's included in the price !

In my experience, products with separate shipping convert much better than free-ship products (with shipping cost built into the price). I think that most customers look at out-the-door pricing, and are not fooled by free shipping offers where the cost is buried in the price. They want a fair shipping cost, that's all.

Or course, if you want to simply eat the shipping cost, you'll get plenty of orders. Lose money on every sale, but make it up in volume.

I doubt if it would be unreasonable to confine the deal to the "Lower 48"

Agree, but what I was wondering is if you have a separate deal for HI/AK customers, and another deal for Canada/Mexico and International customers. Something like $19.99 to HI/AK, $39.99 to Canada/Mexico and $59.99 everywhere else.

I'm aware that you already have $25 built into your new pricing. How do you make your higher priced products appeal to customers outside the lower 48?
