I've been using the software Piwik to analyze my website for a year now but today for the first time I checked the Conversion Rates by search engine. I was surprised by the differences. We have relatively high conversion rates because we have a large number of repeat buyers.
The bigger search engines or portals:
Yandex: 8.33 %
And a search engine I had never heard of before tops them all - at least in conversion rates (a significant number of sales, too):
Of course, since most visitors come from Google, Google amounts to the biggest number of sales. Nevertheless I was surprised by the differences.
There is also a significant difference in average order volume. Ecosia comes first: Average order volume is double the amount of Bing. Bing is second, followed by Google.
I wonder what the reason is. Different demographic of users? Bing might have a lesser share in search than Google, but it seems at least for me the average user is much more valuable.
