Amazon is already doing 'Local Express Delivery' which is same day shipping.

Of course Walmart has had same day pickup of online orders at their stores for quite some time now.

It's obvious the only way the little guy will be able to compete in the future of ecommerce will be to use one of the big guys fulfillment centers so they too can offer cheap shipping (Amazon Prime) and same day shipping in some areas vie eBay, Amazon, etc.
