This is truly a personal opinion.

Since you are in essence competing with every other mycompany.well-known-brand-name.com on their sub domains, I would think it would be more beneficial to you to do that as well as have your own page that links to the sub domain page. That way you can control certain SEO factors, content, etc., and possibly get the additional benefit from organic searches. The more exposure the better.

But as I said, this is an opinion, not something I have practiced.
