1/ FYI, the CCard # would not be stored in the store database but at the payment gateway site.

2/ these payment gateway are not just some site invented overnight, we are talking about authorize.net or 2checkout.com or paypal...., these are giant that are trusted by HUNDREDS of millions..

3/ How do you do secure the rebilling of subscriptions based transaction, you have to use payment gateways who accept to save the credit card and do rebilling..

4/ In few months/1 or 2 years max, most if not all shopping cart on the market will be PCI compliant and will all redirect customer to a payment gateway for checkout process.

People know that and the world is starting to believe more and more that it is becoming very secure to provide our CC online.
