On the category browsing template, I have it sorted by size. Most of our products can be "measured" by their various electrical capacities, so the page would have the 50 watt product at the top, and the 900 watt product at the bottom. Generally speaking, the prices rougly correspond to size as well.
On my product search results, the lowest price item leads the page, witht he bigger ticket items at the bottom...
