Nexternal Solution's e-commerce software has a feature called the Search Engine Friendly Catalog. It creates a static .html page for each product in the merchant's product database that is inherently designed to be attractive to the search engines. When someone searches Google for a specific product name, the static page is listed in the results. That page then links into the corresponding .asp page of the catalog where shoppers can add the item to the cart.
