That could be a very useful tidbit for me -- thank you. I've got a new client with an old Mac who uses AOL 6 -- which I'm pretty sure was based on IE 5 Mac. It seems no matter what I do for him, it doesn't work right on his browser.

from:
[webmaster.info.aol.com...]
Beginning with Windows AOL 3.0 (32-bit), the AOL client does not have a browser embedded, but instead uses the Internet Explorer browser the user already has installed within their system. Macintosh and Win16 versions of AOL do have an embedded version of Internet Explorer which is independent of the user's external browsers.

I couldn't find any definitive answer regarding which version of IE AOL 6 Mac uses, since the latest AOL Mac version listed on the page at <http://webmaster.info.aol.com/detection.html> is 5.0. However, I would think that AOL 6 Mac would be using IE 5.
