Pages that aren't validated tend to be rather fragile... and fragile pages are job security for the people who get paid to fix their own mistakes.

Of course, my pages don't validate either, because ad networks and statistical monitoring services prohibit me from fixing the errors in their code or porting it to XHTML. Complaining about it just gets me an "It works right now, so who cares about next week?" response.
